The Chief Operations Officer will be responsible for the overall management of the organisation. This role includes: accounting and reporting, HR management, legal management, managing stakeholder relations, fundraising, planning, project management and administration.
Key responsibilities of this position include:
Quarterly financial and narrative reporting to Board
Annual financial and narrative reporting to Board
Creating Annual Report for public consumption
Recruitment of staff
Management of staff contracts
Performance management of staff
Trust compliance re governance/legislation in SA
Management of staff disputes (CCMA etc.)
Developing relations with local/provincial/national structures for ECD/OVC care and NGOs
Developing relations with CBO partners and centres
Research to identify likely funders
Proposal development (including budgets)
Refining project design of OVC programme of care
Management, monitoring and evaluation of outcomes and outputs of FII administration
Tracking activities of Programme Administrator
PR - social media and website maintenance
The successful candidate should possess the following:
Full unendorsed drivers licence
Fluent in English
Fluency in Xhosa would be an advantage
At least five years’ experience in NPO executive management
Degree in Management, Community Development, Education, Social Work, Early Childhood Development, Psychology or a related field
Advanced degree would be an advantage
Experience in programme management, fundraising, liaising with Government Departments and other stakeholders
Computer literate
This is a 1 year contract, renewable subject to performance and funding.
